Our Services
From initial inspection to final reporting, AREC provides environmental consulting and hazardous materials support for renovations, demolitions, and building safety projects. Our services are designed to keep your work compliant, protect occupants and workers, and prevent costly surprises once construction begins.
Hazardous Material Surveys
Hazardous materials surveys (often called “HazMat surveys”) are required in B.C. before demolition, salvage, or renovations that could disturb hazardous substances. A qualified professional inspects the building and worksite, takes representative samples where appropriate, and provides a written report so work can proceed safely and legally.
Air Quality & Clearance Sampling
Air clearance sampling is post‑work air testing used to confirm that an area where asbestos‑containing materials (ACMs) – or building materials that were untested or of unknown
content – where disturbed has been cleaned effectively and is safe for unprotected persons to re‑enter.
Abatement Consulting
AREC Environmental Group provides practical, third‑party consulting support for hazardous materials (hazmat) abatement projects. Our role is to help owners, contractors, and project teams keep abatement work safe, compliant, and on schedule – from pre‑work planning through final clearance.
Laboratory
AREC Environmental Group provides dependable asbestos laboratory analysis using recognized industry methods for both bulk material identification and airborne fibre counting. Our in‑house lab supports your project with clear results, fast turnaround, and quality you can trust.
Our team is made up of experienced environmental professionals who live and work right here on Vancouver Island.
We bring specialized training, hands-on field experience, and a practical mindset to every project—but what truly sets us apart is how we work with people. We show up on time, communicate findings in clear, straightforward language, and ensure you feel informed and supported at every step.
Whether you’re a homeowner, contractor, property manager, or public agency, you can count on us for responsive service and dependable guidance.
